Every chapter was written with the hope of building a story readers could escape into, connect with and carry with them long after turning the last page.

The question that drowns Alessia's mind when all she can recall is awaking one afternoon in the underground rebel organisation that claims to be humanity's last hope. About the author
Hi, I'm Kamilah; the author behind these stories and the founder of Kuku's Publishing Press.
I'm an introvert at heart, someone who has always found comfort in quiet moments, meaningful conversations, and, books. Reading was my first escape, and over time it became the inspiration behind my own dream of becoming a writer.
My family is from the south of Lebanon, a place that has shaped so much of who I am. It has taught me the importance of resilience, family, culture, and holding onto my roots no matter where life takes me. That connection is something I carry with me every day, and it influences both the person I am and the stories I choose to tell.
As a proud Muslim woman, representation is deeply important to me. Growing up, I rarely saw people who looked like me pursuing careers in publishing or living out dreams like becoming an author. I hope my journey reminds young Muslim girls that they belong in every space they dream of being in. No dream is too big, and your faith, your culture, and your identity are never things you have to leave behind to achieve it.
Writing has always been more than creating books; it's my way of connecting with people. My hope is that every story I write makes someone feel seen, gives them a place to escape, or stays with them long after they've turned the final page. Whether it's through my novels or through Kuku's Publishing Press, my greatest hope is to inspire others to believe in their own stories and have the courage to share them.

When I began on the journey to publish my own book, I realised something important: every author starts with a story worth telling, but not everyone is given the opportunity to share it with the world.
